If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you may not know the hype that surrounded Lin Manuel-Miranda‘s Broadway musical, Hamilton. At certain points, there were over 10.000 requests for tickets for each performance! That’s just insane! But luckily, a few years ago Disney caught on and reached an agreement to distribute a recording of one of the 2016 season shows, which was supposed to be released on 2021. However, the show-biz gods smiled upon us and Disney decided to moved up the digital premiere a year and released it a few weeks ago.

And let me tell you something: the hype was real. Normally, I’m not a fan of really long movies, but this almost-three-hour performance is sooooo good and entertaining that I didn’t mind at all. I didn’t even realize how much time had passed until it finished. I’m not a fan of period pieces either, but Lin Manuel-Miranda‘s writing and musical are just otherworldly. I mean, I like musicals, but this guy managed to write almost three ours of rap, traditional-but-modern songs about American history and still make it extremely fun and interesting for everyone, even people from other countries. So, kudos to him!

So, to sum up, if you like musicals, Hamilton is definitely a must watch. If you don’t have a Disney+ subscription, you can jam to American history rap songs on Popcorn Time as well
