Last year, Euphoria was my favorite show by far. The end of the season left a lot to be covered on the second season, which was supposed to be released this year. However, COVID-19 had other plans. All of our questions about Rue‘s relapse, what is going to happen to Rules (by the way, I’m shipping that relationship HARD), Nate and Maddie‘s saga, Cassie‘s pregnancy, Fez, and everything else (man, this show had A LOT going on in only eight episodes) will have to wait another year. Buuuuut, Zendaya and Sam Levinson didn’t want to leave us empty handed, so Euphoria has released one special episode focusing on Rue, with another one focusing on Jules coming in a few weeks.

This episode is very different to everything else on Euphoria. It’s 50 minutes of a conversation between Rue and her sponsor, Ali. All talk. Nothing “happens”, but the conversation is so deep and covers such interesting topics about addiction, self-worth and dealing with one’s actions and consequences that it managed to be one of the highlights of movies and series I’ve watched this year.

If you are a fan of Euphoria and you’ve finished season one (don’t watch it until you’ve done so), I don’t know what you are waiting for. You can watch it on HBO.
