There’s something about movies based on true stories that just make you so much more immersed in them.
Dark Waters is a legal thriller (is that even a genre?) about a tenacious environmental lawyer that takes on one of the biggest chemical companies DuPont after discovering that they’ve been knowingly irresponsible disposing extremely harmful waste that cause thousands of deaths and illness across different communities in the US.
Although the topic may not seem super interesting to most of you, I really recommend watching this movie. As usual, Mark Ruffalo really delivers with his performance, but the main reason I think it’s a good watch is because it’s a very entertaining way to learn more about the devastating consequences that irresponsible environmental politics, both from the private and public sector, can have on people lives and how unchecked they can be if it weren’t for people that literally dedicate their lives to fight the good fight.
If you can’t find it anywhere else, Dark Waters is available on Popcorn Time.
